Beautiful surroundings, lots of walks and photo opportunities. Point of interest is the fabulous kids play park, complete with forts and "mega cool" slides, (on the authority of two very happy kids,) with multiple picnic table areas to enjoy your food. The little café makes fantastic fresh food, which you can get to take out. Will definitely be back!
Very nice walk with the dog and kids through the woods great play area good coffee. What more could you want
What an amazing day out! My parents and my kids loved it! The playpark is great with lots to keep all ages of kids happy.. including Grandpa's!! Wil definitely be back .. and will do some more of the walks too.
Fab place in stunning countryside but the house is shut for seeing round throughout 2024 so I gathered. So wait a year please and I'll re review with a full 5 stars without a trout!
A really lovely place to visit, incredibly friendly staff, and an amazing adventure playground. Basically, as soon as we left our nine year old spent every minute badgering us to go back - and we did. The stately home is beautiful from the outside (we didn't go in), and the grounds are so tranquil and serene.
We paid for entry once and that gave us a season pass, so our second visit was free. The children spent a long time in the playground, but we also took the lovely walk around the Upper Loch, found giant faces in the woods, surprise alpacas waiting to be taken for a walk, and bees in trees. Also, the ice cream was delightful.
Lovely gardens and grounds, we stopped for lunch at the cafe and the food was really good. Our kids enjoyed the adventure playground as well. Very peaceful setting.
Bowhill House is probably the most luxurious house that my wife and I have visited. It was a guided tour of the house, and the guide was very knowledgeable much so she actually brought it to life. …
Beautiful snowy walk up the Duchess road. Some great views and photo opportunities. Didn't get a chance to do the other walks but will return later in the year.
Wonderful wooden play park in the trees, free to see the Victorian kitchen with dressing up etc. Cafe food was very good and not high priced. Lovely staff too.
Stunning scenery, beautiful walks on The Lady's walk( 3 miles) and the Duchess's Walk about 7 miles. Beautiful house with alot of history . The Duke of Buccleuch's family seat.
